  Shi Decheng (common name: Chen Qingzhen) was born in 1965 in Qi County, Kaifeng, Henan Province. He has been practicing martial arts with his family since he was a child. In 1980, he went to Dengfeng Sports School to learn Shaolin martial arts from the famous Shaolin boxing teacher Jiao Hongbo. Later, he was introduced by his teacher Jiao Hongbo to become a disciple of the Shaolin Temple monk Shi Suyun, and was given the Dharma name: Shi Decheng.
